Our client
Broome Yasar Partnership has been mandated exclusively to search for a Director of Investor Relations for this global leading food retailer and one of the most recognised brands in its sector. 

Our client operates in the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Romania and Serbia. It also participates in joint ventures in Indonesia and Portugal. It is listed on the Euronext Amsterdam and Brussels.

Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking for a varied and senior role.  The role provides a blend of analytical work, communication with key stakeholders (shareholders, potential investors and analysts) and strategic thinking and influence. The successful candidate should expect to have input into key decision making within the Group and will have longer term opportunities to develop a financial or commercial career or even take over the role of the incumbent Head of Investor Relation over the next few years.

Job Role 
The Director Investor Relations is responsible for maintaining relations with current and potential institutional shareholders, research analysts and the general financial community to increase the value and marketability of the stock by creating visibility, awareness and insight into the topics concerning all aspects of the organization and its strategy. The Director actively supports the Senior Vice President Investor Relations in advising the MB/ ExCo and senior management on the opinions, expectations and perception of the financial markets with respect to the organization. The Director collects, analyze and distribute internally the outside view on Ahold Delhaize’s financial performance on a regular basis.
 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Relation management
• Provides (potential) institutional shareholders with a comprehensive and up-to-date picture of the organization and its topics.
• Accompanies and supports CEO, CFO and SVP Investor Relations on roadshows and other meetings with investors and analysts. 
• Organizes and executes roadshows and presents at investor conferences.
• Responsible for day-to-day contacts with the around 30 equity research analysts, discussing strategy business topics, checks and analyses their research and pro-actively seeks dialogue on strategic issues or financial developments.
• Actively involved in the planning and coordinating of sell-side analyst meetings, store visits and Capital Markets Days. 

Internal advisory
• Actively supports the SVP Investor Relations in advising the MB/ ExCo and senior management on the opinions and expectations of the financial markets with respect to the organization and its performance.
• Prepares and issues Investor Relations Updates to the MB/ ExCo, Supervisory Board, and other management following trading statements, earnings releases and the publication of other important news.
• Responsible for maintaining and optimizing the institutional investor targeting system and shareholder identification process.

Financial Communication
• The Director Investor Relations is responsible for the creating, drafting and coordinating of all Question & Answer documents relating to trading statement, earnings releases, AGM’s and other material press releases in order to prepare the MB/ExCo and senior management and to internally communicate and coordinate messaging.
• Responsible for the Investor Relations chapter of the organization's annual report as content owner. Furthermore, the Director Investor relations is responsible for the investor relations section on the Ahold Delhaize website and other vehicles used to disseminate (financial) information to investors and shareholders.

Ideal experience
• Experience of working in the US or exposed to the fundamentals of the US financial capital markets and corporates. 
• Responsible for the Investor Relations chapter of the organization's annual report as content owner. Furthermore, the Director Investor relations is responsible for the investor relations section on the Ahold Delhaize website and other vehicles used to disseminate (financial) information to investors and shareholders.
• Master-degree in Business Administration or Economics or equivalent (additional pros e.g. accounting/controlling qualifications, MBA, CFA)
• Experience of minimal 10+ years in a relevant finance function/ analyst (preferably within retail)
• Has deep and broad financial market knowledge  
• Strong analytical skills, able to simplify / analyze complex financial areas
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; e.g. open but also persuasive, as well as organization sensitive
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Being able to function with high pressure work situations
• Team player. Able to work on different levels in the organization
• Fluent in English
