Coronavirus update

The IR Society is closely monitoring developments and government advice around the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Maintaining the safety of our employees and members is our highest priority, alongside our ability to continue supporting your needs with a minimal level of disruption during this period of uncertainty. As such we have implemented the following near-term preventative measures to ensure business continuity

Member courses and events

One of our priorities for this year is to embrace technology in our communications and this is ever more relevant now. We are reviewing all Society courses and events as the situation develops and will be looking at alternative ways in which we can make our content available to you. For example, our Best Practice Awards launch event on 1st April will now be hosted as a webinar, and you can find further details if you scroll down in this week’s bulletin. In the meantime, please continue to take advantage of your membership benefits, including the online resources and webinar replays available on our website.

The IR Society’s flagship annual conference is due to take place on 23rd June 2020 and, as things currently stand, we continue to plan confidently for the event to take place on that date. Please see our dedicated conference microsite for further details and updates.

Executive team

Our employees all have the ability to work remotely in the event of a change in government advice or an office shut down so we will still be available for our members, no matter where we are!

We are encouraging our employees to reduce travel and transition face-to-face meetings to virtual interactions where possible. We have also restricted all non-essential business travel for the team and are asking any employees who have travelled to countries with significant COVID-19 outbreaks to self-isolate.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. If you have any further questions please contact Laura Hayter, CEO, or a member of the executive team at Coleman Street on 020 7379 1763 / enquiries@irsociety.org.uk
