This breakfast event is aimed at those who are starting out in an inhouse investor relations role (within the last year), or for those currently within junior roles who wish to progress their careers. This informal, in-person networking event is designed to facilitate peer discussions, the sharing of ideas and to help participants build their networks.
This event is for Society IRO members only. Premium members can attend for free if their allowance allows; for other members a fee of £30+VAT will apply.

Holly is Head of IR at the FTSE 100 group Diploma plc. She has held senior finance and corporate communications in-house and advisory roles, most recently at financial and corporate communications consultancy, Citigate Dewe Rogerson (CDR), following 15 years in in-house finance, corporate communications and investor relations roles in the high-profile UK public transport sector.
Holly is Chair of the Education Committee, and has previously been a member of the Society’s Finance and Best Practice Committees. She completed the IR Society’s prestigious DELIVER programme in early 2021. Holly is an ACCA qualified accountant.
Matt is CEO at the Investor Relations Society, where he is responsible for the delivery of the Society's strategic and operational objectives. Prior to joining the Society, Matt held senior roles for representative membership organisations within financial and professional services, including UK Finance, the Chartered Insurance Institute, and TheCityUK. Matt is a Non-Executive Director at the Association of Democratic Services Officers (ADSO) and has an MBA from Bayes Business School.
Gulshen Patel is a strategic investor relations and corporate communications leader with nearly two decades of experience across FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, including Senior plc and Babcock International Group. At Senior plc, she led the IR and corporate communications strategy through an unsolicited takeover bid — delivering a unified narrative that secured shareholder support for the Board’s rejection of the offer — and managed stakeholder communications through the Boeing 737-MAX crisis. Gulshen brings deep capital markets expertise, trusted senior advisory capability, and hands-on experience in equity storytelling, shareholder strategy and integrated corporate communications. She is a mentor with the IR Society.
