Ahead of The Investor Relations Society Annual Conference 2026, we sat down with one of our panellists, Kate Stewart, to find out a bit more about her thoughts on the upcoming event. Kate will be joining Plenary 4 - Steering IR Strategy During an IPO.

Tell us a bit about you and your role

I joined Verisure in January 2025 to support through the IPO process and lead IR post listing. It has been an amazing process to be involved in, with huge learnings throughout.

Prior to Verisure I spent 15 years on the sell side in equity research and specialist sales before moving into IR almost a decade ago.

I live in London with my husband and two children.

Why do you think the theme of ‘IR as a Trusted Advisor’ is so important this year?

Investor relations touches so many areas within a corporate, but specifically advising the executive management team and the Board of any corporate has never been more important. With fast-moving markets, true long-term capital can be even harder to find – so ensuring real time feedback is critical – but knowing how to filter the immense amount of information is arguably more important.

The core of Investor Relations to me has always been built around developing  trusted relationships within the business. Building those close relationships with the Executive team and the Board can help support build sell-side relationships as investors look to feel even closer than ever to the companies they invest in.

What insights will you be bringing to your panel?

I hope to bring the benefit of leading Investor Relations through a large IPO; there are many learnings to share – and I would highly recommend the experience!

Are there any other sessions you are looking forward to joining?

Any sessions with buy-side representatives are always fascinating to me. Core is key, but finding innovative ways to attract capital is always interesting.

Ultimately though – hearing from peers is the best take-away. I leave these sessions refreshed and full of ideas!
