IR Webinar: Navigating ESG reporting requirements and investor expectations

Past Event 1.0 IR Programme, Strategy & Implementation

On 26th March we held a webinar discussing UK companies being under an increasing amount of pressure to disclose ESG-related information from external stakeholders. There is a labyrinth of legislation and reporting frameworks with which companies are expected to comply, whether it is required by regulators (such as Taskforce Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)) or providing the decision-useful information expected by investors (such as disclosure under the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards).

To help navigate this complex landscape, this webinar explored;

  • The context and development of the UK’s Sustainability Disclosure Standards (SDS)
  • The importance of an effective Governance structure and how investors utilise stewardship and escalation as tools to manage ESG-related issues
  • How UK companies comply or explain vs best practice developments and engage with their shareholders
  • How other markets are approaching sustainability reporting, and its impact on AGMs
