Policy RoundUp - December 2024/January 2025
As ever, policy work has been busy so this bumper RoundUp is a little later than planned!
Firstly, we have been finalising our responses to HMT’s proposals for a UK Green Taxonomy (due today) and the FRC’s plans to overhaul the Stewardship Code (due by 19th February).
Meanwhile, the World Economic Forum's annual global risks report highlighted deepening geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions, environmental risks becoming an urgent reality and technological risks lurking ‘under the radar’. Nearer to home, the FRC has set out its five priorities to support economic growth, including ‘underpinning investor and broader confidence in UK plc’, ‘understanding and improving market effectiveness’ and ‘embedding proportionality and reducing unnecessary business burdens’.
