In our new Meet the Team series, we’re spotlighting the team members who help drive the Investor Relations Society forward.
In this quick-fire interview, we sit down with Anneka Finnane to learn more about her role, her priorities, and what motivates her both professionally and personally.

What is your role at the Society?

I am the Society’s Events Manager, responsible for delivering a comprehensive programme of seminars, webinars, masterclasses, roundtables, and networking events, including the annual Investor Relations Society Best Practice Awards. I also serve on the Conference Committee, overseeing branding, marketing, and logistics for the Annual Conference.

What brought you to the Society?

Before joining the Society in May 2024, I worked as an Events Manager at several membership organisations, including the Association of Foreign Banks, the London Chamber of Commerce, and the British Council for Offices. I enjoy working in small teams where I can lead the events programme while supporting wider organisational needs, and I value collaborating closely with members toward shared goals, which is something the Society excels at.

What is one thing you’re especially proud of that you or the team has achieved recently?

The 2025 events programme was a significant achievement, delivering an expanded schedule of seminars, networking opportunities, and flagship events that attracted a growing number of members. Notably, both the Annual Conference and the Best Practice Awards dinner were standout successes.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

The people, both my colleagues in the executive team and our members, are what make this role most rewarding. I appreciate working with supportive, collaborative individuals who genuinely care about the work we do. I also value seeing familiar faces at events and building meaningful relationships with our members.

What developments or innovations are you most excited about this year?

I’m particularly excited about the launch of our new CRM system and website. A well-designed CRM will enhance our workflows and data insights, strengthen the management of our events programme, and provide members with a modern, efficient self-service experience.

What’s something people might not know about you but should?

Most of my weekends and time off are spent with family and friends, especially keeping up with my three-year-old son. I enjoy discovering new places to eat and saying yes to spontaneous adventures, including appearing on a TV gameshow in 2024! I didn’t win, but it was a great experience.
