Best Practice Awards
The IR Society’s flagship Best Practice Awards, now in their 17th year, have influenced many improvements in investor relations practice over the years and are a much prized recognition of best in class performance.
Now in their 17th year, the Awards recognise those companies that have demonstrated their strong understanding of, and proactive efforts to promote, clear and consistent investor communications. Judges are drawn from the investor relations profession and the investment community.
The 17th Annual Best Practice Awards' entries was open to all companies on 21 March until 30 June 2017 for both the self-entry Awards and for nominations for the voted Awards.
The IR Society’s Best Practice Committee, comprising a broad cross-section of companies and industry players, has again refined the self-entry Awards requirements and criteria to ensure they continue to reflect changes in the operating and regulatory environment. This year the ‘Best use of digital reporting’ has been reviewed to address changes in corporate reporting and will now form part of the overall criteria for the ‘Best annual report’ and ‘Best digital communications’ categories. A new voted award ‘Best Investor Engagement’ has also been added in 2017.
The self-entry Awards' categories now comprise five areas that will encourage and reward best practice in investor communications: the Grand Prix award ‘Best overall communication of company investment proposition’; ‘Best Annual Report’; ‘Most effective integration of sustainability reporting into communications’; ‘Best digital communications’; and ‘Best IPO IR Communications‘. For each of the five categories there will be separate awards open to FTSE 100, FTSE 250, Small Cap & AIM, and international companies, so recognising the diverse range of companies looking to the UK for excellence in IR.
The popular voted Awards’ categories, run in partnership with WeConvene Extel, comprise: ‘Best newcomer to IR (individual)’; ‘Best IRO (individual)’; and ‘Best overall company IR (company)’; and the new award ‘Best Investor Engagement (investor). This new award will be decided by company IROs for an investor/buy-side firm that the investment community believes represents the best in investor engagement with companies.
The 17th Annual Best Practice Awards' entries for both the self-entry Awards and for nominations for the voted Awards is now closed.
