The main feature in this issue of Informed reports on the IR Society’s 2018 annual conference, IR: Future-proofing Business, which took place on June 19th. The 28-page feature contains write-ups from each session, including interviews with Sir Douglas Flint, former group chairman of HSBC Holdings, and Sir Michael Rake, former chairman of Worldpay Group. This section also includes photographs and cartoons from the event.

As part of the industry news section, Grant Fuller, co-founder of Irithmics, discusses the use of artificial intelligence in finance; Sallie Pilot, director of Black Sun, writes about best practice in investor relations; Richard Davies, founder and MD of RD:IR, looks at what disruption really means; and Antony Dunkels, director in Edelman's litigation and legal affairs practice, offers advice to companies wishing to avoid dawn raids.

There are also articles from Garry Honey, founder of Better Boards; Ian Shackleton, consultant at Headland Consultancy; Sonya Ghobrial founder of Glear Giraffe IR; and Rudi Palmieri and Nadzeya Bolla from the University of Liverpool.

In addition to these articles, the Society says goodbye to general manager John Gollifer, announces two new Fellows, and introduces new Society professional development courses.
