The Investor Relations Society

Membership Executive

Pay: Competitive

The Investor Relations Society, the UK’s professional body for investor relations (IR), is looking to recruit a Membership Executive to join its executive team.

Based at Gracechurch Street near Bank/Liverpool Street, we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join us as a permanent member of this busy executive team. The Membership Executive will be responsible for supporting the recruitment, engagement and retention of members and partners. You will deal with queries from existing and potential members, maintain accurate and up to date records, and support the delivery of member meetings.

The ideal candidate may have some experience within administration of a membership organisation, perhaps looking for the next step up in their career. At the same time, we do need a team player who has a can do attitude, and willing to be flexible in a small team. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with our Head of Marketing as well as other executive team members including our events and professional development departments. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely with an expectation of working from the office two to three days a week and around key events.

The role includes:

  • Provide a point of contact for all membership enquiries
  • Sell and promote the benefits of membership to prospective members
  • Manage and maintain database of members and prospects, ensuring data quality, integrity and accuracy
  • Identify new opportunities for membership growth and following up leads with prospective members.
  • Coordinate the marketing and outreach programmes for potential new members
  • Manage the membership renewal process as well as engage with lapsed members
  • Support and attendance at events and Society activities to engage with current and potential members
  • Assist in the broader marketing remit, working closely with the Head of Marketing
  • Use communications tools and social media to market and promote IR Society membership and other Society initiatives
  • Prepare the agenda and take minutes of the Society’s Membership Committee.

Key attributes:

  • You will need excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong administrative skills including experience CRM databases and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills used in planning own workload
  • Professional attitude and the ability to work in a customer facing environment
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and willingness to help other colleagues
  • Interest in developing knowledge in investor relations and financial markets
  • Previous experience in a membership organisation would be advantageous
  • A team player who can see their role as an integral part of delivering an overall quality of service on behalf of the Society.
  • Note that we operate a hybrid working policy so there will be an expectation for the successful candidate to be office based a certain number of days per week.
