The gig
Investor Relations and Corporate Communications are responsible for all external communications and Investor Relations stakeholder engagement. This critical team bridges our company with the investment community, analysts, media, and key corporate audiences; ensuring transparency, consistency and holistic brand storytelling.
Reporting to the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, the Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Senior Manager will be a strong number two, working closely together on all aspects of the IR and Comms Strategy. This role will be responsible for executing the day-to-day activities of the function — including financial results, investor engagement and liaising with our corporate comms agency to drive our comms activities. The role also includes line management responsibility for one team member (the Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Coordinator). Partnering with the Executive Directors and across the leadership team, finance function, wider comms functions, legal and sustainability; building strong connections across the business.
The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. It also requires the ability to carefully manage relationships outside the company, understanding the regulatory backdrop and specific requirements of the audiences. The individual will combine a hands on approach with the ambition and curiosity to expand and develop in the role as the business grows. They must be flexible and able to adapt to a new environment, working at pace.
As our Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Senior Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as a strong number two for the Director of IR and Corp Comms, involved in all aspects of the function; ensuring our ambitious plans are delivered successfully
- Delivering and driving the preparation of results statements, presentations and supporting documents (including Q&A), together with the Annual Report and quarterly trading statements.
- Organising results, investor events and managing the Investor Relations financial calendar.
Leading and establishing relationships; having regular, direct interaction with sell-side analysts; ensuring published research on the company and sector is analysed and shared internally. - Owning the sell-side analyst consensus, ensuring it is accurate and up to date internally and on the website.
- Presenting to the Leadership team and Board level, storytelling and taking the business on the Investor Relations and Corp Comms journey.
- Building relationships with corporate brokers and Corp Comms advisors.
- Being the key point of contact responding to investor and analyst queries, and internal queries, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Supporting the IR & Corp Comms Director in, and in time lead, investor meetings and conferences.
- Developing and maintaining detailed understanding of financial performance and operations of the business.
- Taking the lead on production of the monthly IR board reports, with updates on share register movements, market valuation, consensus and key investor feedback.
- Some travel will be required in this role (likely a few times per year).

Job purpose
Reporting to the Head of Investor Relations, you will represent Burberry within the investment community. As part of a small but high-profile team, you will play an active role in implementing an effective investor relations programme covering the company’s capital markets communication.
Responsibilities
- Manage sell-side relationships, consensus collation and publication, and monitor sell-side opinion on Burberry and the sector
- Drafting and compiling results announcements, investor presentations and supporting materials, including ownership of Q&A document
- Develop and maintain the reporting pack using IR Insight by Nasdaq, as well as company financial model
- Monitor peer group activity and regularly share insights and analysis internally
- Foster strong relationships internally, partnering with cross-functional teams to develop communication materials for internal and external audiences
- Develop and maintain detailed understanding of financial performance and operations of the business
- Contribute to and/or lead investor meetings, both ad-hoc and at industry conferences, as well as sell-side sales desk briefings
- Build relationships with buy-side and sell-side analysts and respond to their queries

Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Significant experience within a corporate IR team or as a sell-side analyst looking to transition into IR, with a clear understanding of the nuances of an in-house IR role
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across all levels – collegiate, collaborative and low ego
- Deep understanding of financial statements and a good commercial acumen
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate data and translate numbers into clear messages and convey complex financial information effectively
- Confident dealing with topics relevant to capital market participants
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce drafts aligned to the company’s tone of voice
- Able to deliver high quality work under pressure, with strong prioritisation and proactive problem-solving
- Self-motivated with a “get on with it” mindset and a commitment to continuous learning from peers and external IR developments

A European headquartered FTSE 250 are looking to appoint a new Head of IR & Communications to report directly in to the Group CFO, based in London.
The role requires representing the company as the day to day contact for all IR matters, leading and executing the IR strategy and all aspects of IR and Communications. You will work closely with the CEO and the C-Suite and must network with all areas of the business.
