The main feature in this issue of Informed reports on the IR Society’s 2017 annual conference, A new world order: the ascent of IR, which took place on June 20th. The 24-page feature contains write-ups from each session, including interviews with Lady Barbara Judge, chair of the Institute of Directors, and Anne Richards, chief executive of M&G Investments. This section also includes photographs and cartoons from the event.
The second feature of this issue was titled ‘Inside MiFID II’ and contained three articles which profiled and assessed the likely impact to the profession:
- Dealing with a seismic change in regulation, Ian Shackleton, Bell Pottinger;
- Shortening the corporate access odds, Will Rowlands-Rees, Institutional Investor; and
- What MiFID II means for IR professionals, Anthony Domel, Nasdaq Corporate Solutions.
Also in this issue, the IR Society announces two new Fellows of the Society, Evan Davis and Gary Leibowitz, plus the first graduates of the new Diploma in Investor Relations scheme.
As part of the industry news section, Phil Marchant of Comprend researches the use of corporate websites by analysts, Nick Rose of FleishmanHillard Fishburn discusses the challenges of corporate reporting, and Richard Davies of RD:IR looks at the growing position of the fund management industry. Also, Arnaud Robin of Euronext Corporate Services explains the recent growth of the securities exchange across Europe.
