A survey of the membership asked about the metrics and analyses they observed were being used by company executives, sell-side analysts and investors to evaluate proposed mergers and acquisitions. The conclusions were surprising; emphasis is often placed on evaluation metrics that look as if they tell the story, but can be misleading.
