Best Practice Awards
Now in their 19th year, the Best Practice Awards provide a meaningful opportunity to showcase best practice, raise the standard of investor communications and recognise best in class performance.
The Self-entry awards are open to all listed companies wishing to demonstrate their commitment to leading the way in communicating with their investors. The popular Voted awards, run in partnership with Extel, an Insitutional Investor company, recognise excellence in individual and team investor relations
The Process – Self-Entry Awards
The process begins with companies submitting their entries across the five awards categories. Entries are scored against criteria based on the Society’s guidelines for best practice in investor communications. Companies must also provide a statement of their own to support the entry.
Having completed the scoring on a qualitative and quantitative basis the entries are then reviewed by independent third parties in the form of university business schools with relevant expertise to ensure the veracity of the initial scoring. This allows us to generate a short list of entrants for each award category.
These short lists are then submitted to a panel of judges drawn from users of annual reports and accounts who are responsible for selecting the eventual winner for each category.
The culmination of this extremely rigorous and comprehensive process is the IR Society Annual Awards Dinner, a true highlight of the IR calendar, where the winner of each category is presented with a trophy in recognition of their outstanding achievement.
