Informed issue 104 is out this week!

I am delighted to announce that the Autumn 2019 edition of Informed, the quarterly journal of The IR Society, will be landing on your desk sometime this week!

This issue of Informed has a special focus on personal development and small cap issues, as well as all the regular features including IR Society and industry news, write ups of recent IR Society events and details of upcoming IR Society events and professional development courses.

As you may have heard Gary Davies recently announced his retirement from the IR Society and I have taken up the position of CEO. I wish Gary all the best for the future and am thrilled to be leading our Society into the next stage of its growth. It is an exciting time for investor relations; as the industry continues to professionalise, alongside regulatory change, we are here to equip our members with the best possible education, networking and development opportunities.

Enjoy your copy of Informed and we are always interested to hear from our members on suggestions for content and format and whether you wish to contribute to our Winter 2019 issue in December.

I would also like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to some of the upcoming events in the IR Society's calendar:

  • Best Practice Awards: Shortlists were announced this week - if you have not yet booked your tickets you can do so here.
  • Events: We have a busy end to the year with our first Supporting Growth event for IROs at AIM and Small Cap companies, our IR Masterclass in November, our latest Women in IR workshop and our webinar on predictions for the year ahead. Full details for all of these events are on the website
  • Professional Development: It's also a very busy end to the year on the PD front, with 10 courses running between now and Xmas, as well as a CIR revision course and a CIR exam sitting - if you have any training budget left for the year check the website to see what's coming up.
  • And finally, with the recent changes at the IR Society we have an opening for a Policy & Communications executive - full details of the role can be found in our Job Zone, but if you know anyone who would make a good addition to the team at Coleman Street, please let me know.

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you all at the IR Society awards on 19th November when we will be celebrating the very best in IR, back this year at the Tower of London. Good luck to all those shortlisted!

Yours sincerely,

Laura Hayter, CEO, The IR Society
